Mexican Riviera Cruise
Colorado Springs, CO, Red Carpet Cruises, Royal Caribbean Mariner of the Seas Mexican Riviera Cruise. Pics and videos: http://gallery.me.com/ric.rooney/100108 Well we’re back on the high seas again. This time Crystal and I are doing a 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise out of Los Angeles on Royal Caribbean’s Mariner of the Seas. This was unplanned but Royal Caribbean made us an offer we couldn’t refuse. This particular cruise is a ‘Seminar at Sea’, an educational seminar for cruise agents. So we have two days at sea where we’re in ...

Party Time!
Red Carpet Cruises, Colorado Springs, CO. Luxury Cruises Click here for video clips and pics: http://gallery.me.com/ric.rooney/100097 Red Carpet Cruises threw a party tonight! We were honored to be chosen as one of twelve companies to host a 2010 monthly Chamber of Commerce ‘After Hours’ business social. I think a lot of people were wondering if a tiny company like ours could pull off an event that typically draws 175 – 225 people. But thanks to a great event planner (Forte Events) and wonderful support from our Cruise Planners Home Office and Celebri...

Why Celebrity? (2009 update)
January 3, 2010 Colorado Springs, CO, Red Carpet Cruises, Celebrity Equinox Caribbean Cruise Celebrity Cruises; 80% of the luxury cruise experience, 20% of the price? Well we’ve finally closed the book on 2009 and like 2008 it was another year most of us would rather forget. The forecast for 2010 seems to be more of the same for the first half of the year before the economy hopefully starts to turn around. So you wouldn’t think that’s the background I’d open with to talk to you about cruise vacations would it? But give me a few minutes to explain why....

Solstice made her debut in November 2008 and her sister ship, Equinox, joined her in July of 2009. So we’re expecting great things. Right now we&rs...

What an amazing ship. I’ll do a write up shortly on my impressions but this is a must see cruise ship. It’s not the eight wonder of the world, but perhaps the first man-made wonder of the seas! Queen Mary 2 Review

Luxury Cruise Specialists Click here for pics and videos: http://gallery.me.com/ric.rooney/100066 Queen Mary 2 Labor Day Cruise Day 1: Embarkation We pulled into Pier 12 in Brooklyn, New York this morning to begin our short, four-day Labor Day cruise on the legendary QUEEN MARY 2. Now perhaps having priority boarding privileges as a Queens Grill Suite guest had something to do with it but as far as embarkations go, this was the fastest I’ve ever seen; just under ten minutes. The terminal was spit shined, polished and ha...

Why are World Cruises becoming so popular?
Colorado Springs, CO. Red Carpet Cruises, Cruise Vacation Specialists. With the economy the way it is you’d think a World Cruise would be the last thing on people’s mind this year. You’d think that, but you’d be wrong. Cunard for example just announced in their words, “recession defying record bookings” for the recently released 2011 world cruise itineraries for the Queen Mary 2 and her sister ship, Queen Victoria. Bookings are up 150% compared to the first day of sales for 2010 world cruises. Between these world cruise it...

Queen Mary 2, here we come! 1) Bad economies need good vacations. 2) Next up, QM2! 3) Twitter a virtual World Cruise? 4) Check out the new website. 1) Well it’s been a heck of a year so far for our new cruise business. Even with the state of the economy we’re well on pace to meet our first year goals. The unemployment rate is uncomfortably high but for those fortunate enough to be riding out the economic storm so far, its not that people don’t have money but that they’r...

Well, it was an interesting beginning to our cruise this time and let’s just say it was not quite as smooth as our last 10-minute embarkation process on Celebrity’s Solstice back in February that I bragged about in a prior blog. We arrived at the port at noon and were promptly told to turn around and come back in one hour. Evidently there was a ‘security’ incident...

Thanks! http://gallery.me.com/ric.rooney/100023 Sunday Feb. 15th Day 1, Embarkation Day. Here we go! This embarkation process was the smoothest of any cruise I’ve taken so far. We took a cab from our hotel in Ft. Lauderdale to Port Everglades where the Solstice was docked. Celebrity Solstice here we come!
Colorado Springs, CO. Cruise vacation specialists. Well what can you say about this economy except people are getting so stressed lately that they're deciding they really need to take a little time off and get their batteries recharged. And that's exactly what Crystal and I will be doing this February when we get our first look at Celebrity's new supership, the Solstice (http://www.celebritysolstice.com). This is a stunning beautiful and sophisticated cruise ship that made its maiden voyage just this month. I have an on-line fitness company (http://www.physiquetransfor...

Great trip, great cruise!
Colorado Springs, CO. Cruise vacation specialists. Hi everyone! Crystal and I just got back from our Cruise Planners conference in Florida and our 3-day mini cruise to the Bahamas aboard Holland America's brand new ship, the Eurodam. We had a wonderful time and learned a ton about the cruise business. There were nearly 300 other franchise owners from around the country and their depth of knowledge and experience about the cruise industry was frankly a little intimidating. But when other owners found out that Crystal and I were the newest of the newbies at the conference these pe...

Bahamas, here we come!
Colorado Springs, CO. Cruise vacation specialists. Crystal and I just arrived in Fort Lauderdale a few hours ago so I thought I'd give you an update. We're here for the annual cruise convention and trade show. We're working hard on our initial ACC level (a rough analogy is the equivalent of an associates degree) CLIA certification and we can fast track things a bit coming to the trade show and taking some classes at the trade show for additional credits. The icing on the cake however to come back to Florida only three weeks after our initial Cruise Planners 5-day train...
