Bahamas, here we come!

Crystal and I just arrived in Fort Lauderdale a few hours ago so I thought I'd give you an update. We're here for the annual cruise convention and trade show. We're working hard on our initial ACC level (a rough analogy is the equivalent of an associates degree) CLIA certification and we can fast track things a bit coming to the trade show and taking some classes at the trade show for additional credits.
The icing on the cake however to come back to Florida only three weeks after our initial Cruise Planners 5-day training and orientation was Holland America's surprise of sailing their brand new flagship, the Eurodam, into Fort Lauderdale to take convention attendees on a three day mini-cruise to the Bahamas for the second half of the convention. We'll have two stops, at Nassau and Half Moon Kay, a private island shared by Holland America which has been rated the best private island the last four years running by Porthole Cruise Magazine.
So we'll be meeting a lot of cruise industry executives, learning a lot about the upcoming plans of the major cruise lines for 2009 and getting to enjoy a short cruise to boot!
I'll let you know how things go in a few days.
Ric
