My wife Crystal and I are really excited about our new cruise business, Red Carpet Cruises.  I write a blog for our other business, Sun Spot Atlantis (http://www.ssatlantis.com) here in Colorado Springs, Colorado so this will be fun for me.  We're in the process of getting through all the administrative stuff that goes along with starting a new venture.  We just returned from Florida where we went through our initial 5-day training period.

We personally met with representatives from six different cruise lines (Princess, Holland America, Carnival, Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, NCL) and got a glimpse of what's coming in the next few years in the cruise business and it just blew me away.  Over the next 36 months 25 brand new cruise ships will be coming on-line.  Total cost: approximately 22 billion (yes, with a 'b') dollars!  That's nearly a billion dollars per ship!  But we actually got a sneak preview of some of these ships and they're absolutely breathtaking in their size, luxury, beauty and diversity.  I'll be talking about and showing you some of these phenomenal ships in upcoming blogs.

So we had a great time in the classroom but we also had three ship inspection days where we were taken on inspections of cruise ships that were currently at port.  We had a chance to inspect different staterooms, dining facilities where we sampled the food (free lunch!) and various ship amenities.  The more we know about these ships, the better we're able to serve you.

This is just one of the things that will hopefully begin to set us apart from a regular travel agent when it comes time for you to book your next cruise.  To get our CLIA certification we need a combination of continuing education credits on the cruise industry, a certain amount of on the deck ship inspections, actual cruise time, and a minimum amount of annual cruise bookings.  As Cruise Planner agents Crystal and I will specialize in just one thing, creating the best cruise experience and the best cruise value for your dollar, every time you book with us.
